I hadn't spoken to Lorna & Ash until their wedding day, but through our email chats already knew just how perfect the day would be. Beautiful couple, gold sequin bridesmaids, vintage Ford Mustang, sparkler exit, I mean they didn't make my job very hard. After a love at first sight meeting these two beamed all day and are just perfect for each other. It was a beautiful Autumn day for a truly wonderful couple. Thank you for having me be part of your amazing day Mr & Mrs Lock!
Alexia & Chris got married on Saturday at Marleybrook House I have to say this is the only wedding venue that had I worked here before I got married I would have defintley considered getting married here! It's amazing, who doesn't want a funfair for a wedding reception and a telephone box that's a secret loo! Alexia & Chris booked me over two years ago and even then I knew their wedding would be amazing, highlights were the gorgeous flower wedding arch by Kim de Min and the most delicious evening food by Camden based Louisiana Chilli , then topped off with the best fireworks display I have ever seen! Thank you so much for having me guys, it really was the most perfect day!
I've worked with Min for years and knew right from the start there would be nothing traditional about hers and Johnny's day. Fancy wearing trainers and a leather jacket, why not? or how about a donut tower and a dragon ice sculpture instead of a wedding cake? Erm...YES! Their wedding started off at Islington town hall, one of my fav London venues! Beautiful old building, with so many places for beautiful pictures including that famous corridor and the staff are super lovely. We then moved to The Amadeus in Little Venice, a great venue for putting your own stamp on things and it's surrounded by some picture perfect London streets! It was such a pleasure to be part of such a laid back fun day, surrounded by a huge family who adore them so much. Min & Johnny, you are just perfect for each other and I wish you both a world of happiness! Thank you so much for choosing me to be part of it.
I knew from the first time we met how much I loved Jen & Dan, I prayed they would book me as their wedding photographer. A northern couple living in London using their wedding as a London farewell, heading back to the north after an amazing round the world trip. Their wedding was all about true love and family, a real northern shindig in the heart of Camden! The ceremony venue was Clissold House in Stoke Newington, followed by a reception at the wonderful Prince Albert. Jen, Dan, I can't thank you enough for having me be part of your day, you and your families were so welcoming (a special shout out to Grandad Roy) and your day was perfect, from the glorious spring sunshine to the overwelming amount of love for the both of you. I wish you all the happiness in the world, Congrats Mr & Mrs Scott!I knew from the first time we met how much I loved Jen & Dan, I prayed they would book me as their wedding photographer. Alex & Greg's could not have asked for a more beautiful February day, the low winter sun meant we had some beautiful photo opportunities. The wedding was based at Woodhall Manor, one of the loveliest venues I have shot at, the staff were amazing and could not have done more for the Bride & Groom and the grounds surrounding the venue are beautiful! The wedding had such a lovely family vibe to the day, they got married at the church where her Dad often plays guitar and he played for them during their ceremony, they also made quite an enterance by arriving at the reception in Alex's Dad's beautiful vintage Jaguar E Type. I have to give a special shout out to the bridesmaids and groomsmen as they were AMAZING! Thank you so much for helping with everything guys, you were wonderful! Never have I could across a grooms party so orgainsed!! Now I couldn't write this post without mentioning a very special member of the family, he walked down the aisle on brilliantly, posed for pictures and entertained the lot of us, Alex & Greg's french bulldog Bruce! How gorgeous is he??
Kids just grow up so damn quickly! I've know Max since he was born and now can't believe he's 3! Taking advantage of the last bits of summer and the wild flowers here's a few shots from Max's Junior shoot. Now having little Elle has made me realise just how important it is to capture these moments in your child's life, I wish I could do it daily but just once a year would really let you see how they have grown. Then when they are all grown up and have left home and you can sit and sob over the albums!
Well I can't believe this is my first blog post of 2017 (a little late to game this year) however I do have one very tiny 13 week old excuse. This wedding I actually shot last August, in fact Jade & Rob have just celebrated their one year anniversary. I haven't shared the full wedding as yet as Brides magazine wanted to be the first to feature it (see feature below) however now i'm free to post away and O how I've waited to post it! Still one of my favourite weddings!
When Jade & Rob asked me to shoot their wedding in Provence… I mean I wanted to jump up and down with excitement! (I actually did) Then when Jade sent me over her Pinterest board of what she was thinking I nearly burst!
I can't believe its the end of this year! What a year! On the surface 2016 has sucked, the loss of so many amazing people and the political world...well WTF! However, personally I've had one heck of a year as have all my couples and I tell you, there is nothing better than being involved in the happiest day in peoples life when you need a bit of a pick me up! Professionally I have had the best year so far in my business and I couldn't be prouder of this. The weddings I have shot are weddings I could of only dreamt of at the start of my business.
I have known Emily for quite a few years now, she was actually one of the 1st people to book me as their wedding photographer. She took a leap of faith when I didn't even know myself if I could do this. Emily is a talented designer so I knew the wedding would be decorated beautifully but beautiful details were just the start of this gorgeous wedding. The amount of love in this room for this couple was incredible, a bridal party like no other and a couple with true love that lit up the barn. Emily & Ross thank you for letting me be part of your day and thank you for showing me the true reason why I do this job. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Murray - I wish you all the happiness in the world.
What a lovely day, the whole day was just stunning and so relaxed and calm. I've loved getting to know Natalie & Paul through the wedding planning process and gosh they are just perfect for each other, they definitely bring out the best in each other. The setting at The Bingham was just beautiful, and the staff there were amazing, I couldn't recommend this venue more! If the day wasn't perfect enough we then went out for their portrait session in the evening and the light was just perfection! London in dreamy light on the river, you can't get better than that! Mr & Mrs Andrew, thank you so much for having us, it was a true honour to be part of your beautiful day.
As a wedding photographer you work with quite a few amazing couples but right from day one I have loved every second I spent with these two, they are two of the most kind, thoughtful people I have ever photographed. Their love is open and honest, their wedding day was so beautiful but it was their love that shined the brightest, even through the little bit of rain. The speeches were definitely some of the best I have ever heard, it was hard to see through the camera for the tears! Massive congrats Mr & Mrs Emmett!
To say this wedding was close to home would be an understatement, not only was it in my home town of Doncaster but the Groom also happens to be my brother-in-law. It was such a privilege to photograph a wedding surrounded by my family and to see these two finally tie the knot was just wonderful. Adam & Sami I send you all the love and happiness in the whole wide world. Sami welcome to the Pashley clan!
When Michelle booked me for their wedding at the hotel Kate Middleton got ready for her wedding It's safe to say I was super excited. The eleganance of The Goring Hotel is just stunning. Classic and beautiful in everyway, which is actually how I would describe the bride. I've known Michelle for a while now, working with her in my publishing job and I was so over the moon when she asked me to be their wedding photographer.
I have known Emily for quite a few years now as she used to work with me as a fellow art director and designer in magazine publishing. When I first got to know Emily she actually wasn't with Ross but I had heard alot about him as they were childhood sweethearts and used to date between the ages of 13-19 and you could tell Ross held a very special place in Emily's heart. So when she announced that they were back together 15 years later after their first date I fell in love with their love story!
When I first met Sarah at our initial meeting we hit it off straight away, our love of all things girly we could have chatted for hours, leaving Gary at home I also knew who called the shots! Abit of Girl Power, yeah! Which meant I didn't meet Gary until the engagement shoot. Sarah kept telling how nervous they both were, especially Gary (I hear this alot from the guys) but as soon as I met him I knew they would be great.
When Natalie emailed and suggested having their pre-wedding shoot at Columbia flower market, I have to be honest i was a little nervous, I've heard how busy that place gets on a Sunday morning! Now, yes it was very busy but i understad why, boy was it beautiful. Not only were the flowers THE most beautiful I have ever seen, there were so many types, so many different colours and flowers I've never even seen before. But the flowers weren't all there were to see, the cute cafes and shops could be seen on the coolest of instagram feeds!
I'm known Lex (Fleming Photo) for over a year now, we met on a facebook group for photographers and we became really good friends as we live in the same area. She firstly reached out to see if I would be interested in doing a headshot swap for us to be able to use the images in our business. We had the best day and laughed all day. We now meet up for a regular burrito and cocktails. As we have past the anniversary of our first shoot we thought it was about time for an update.
I have a new album company, Folio Albums. They make beautiful products, like, really beautiful. I chose to partner with Folio for a few reasons, I personally think they lovely people, they are based 20 mins from my home town, in Barnsley (keeping it Yorkshire) , they are an ethical company, all their products are recycled where possible, and all the leather from their albums are sourced from suppliers committed to sustainability and the ethical treatment of animals. Above all, their products just have such quality, the leather on the albums is super soft and the fact my clients can personalise them to make them extra special is just a bonus. Names can be embossed with the date of your wedding and more recently you can now have this in gold foil and everyone knows I love abit of gold!
Ok, I'm a little bit behind on this post but getting into the swing of things with this blogging lark I thought I would share a few pics from our amazing honeymoon from last July. So here was the itinerary:
LA - PALM SPRINGS - JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK - VEGAS - GRAND CANYON - LAKE POWELL - BRYCE CANYON - VEGAS - DEATH VALLEY - YOSEMITE - LAKE TAHOE - SAN FRAN - BIG SUR - SANTA BARBARA - LA
Here's my first personal post in ages, and the subject matter is actually why I haven't been able to find time to blog! I finally have a home office/studio, its been a long time coming and boy was it hard work. So many hours lost in DIY - if anyone has tried to put up coving themselves, you will understand! Internal/external corners boggled my brain, but finally its here and it was worth all the hard work. I love it! Everything is now suitably organised and looking so damn pretty I had to share it - plus the DIY was so painful I need some likes to make me love it again.
Sara and Josh were the sweetest couple, meeting at school in science class, a science themed wedding seemed appropriate! Their beautiful flowers were bought from chelsea flower market 4am the day before their wedding and handmade on the day. They also both have a joint love for bird watching hence the bird badges as wedding favors and the amazing origami cranes which took them hours to hand fold and string together. Congrats guys!
Boy, do I love a pub wedding! Gem + Matt got married at Stoke Newington Town Hall and held their pub reception in Walthamstow's The Queen's Arms. Gemma works as the Fashion News Editor at Look magazine so their DIY wedding has some lovely fashion details, her dress was from Carven, her shoes Ted Baker and The Bridesmaids from Asos. It was a lovely family affair with her friend doing all the flowers, another the amazing cake and a real team effort with all the decor.
These guys are one of the nicest couples I have ever photographed. Their wedding was a romantic barn wedding at Maiden's Barn in Essex. I have also never known a wedding with more helpful groomsmen! Alex gave them a megaphone to help get guests in line for the family formals. For this I will be forever grateful! By the end of the evening I felt just like one of the guests and their family and friends made me feel so welcome
I was beyond excited when Shelagh & Antoine asked me to photograph their wedding in Ibiza next May. It's going to be so beautiful on the island of Formentera! Meanwhile, their engagement shoot is a contast in not so sunny but beautiful Hammersmith, the river side on the Thames lined with beautiful parks and riverside apartments means alot to this lovely couple as it's not far from their London home.
I seem to have been to Essex a lot recently but this one was a pretty special visit. Another wedding which was really lovely and I could enjoy as a guest while taking a few pics on the day. Nic & Tom's school wedding was beautiful, maybe I'm a tad biased as I think the bride is pretty awesome, and Tom is one lucky fella. The whole day had a feeling of friends and family and the closeness of the people around them. Nic's brother made a crazy golf course from scratch for goodness sake! It was such a beautiful day and a bride and groom to make you smile from ear to ear! Love you guys and thanks for such a lovely day! Hope you enjoyed Mauritius! Not jealous much!
A pre-wedding shoot with a field full of cows was always going to cute but these two are one of the sweetest couples I have met to date. I can't wait to shoot their wedding in Essex in October! Alex and Nina chose the area for their shoot as it was down the road from Nina's mum's house and they used to visit here alot when they first started dating. We were only talking earlier in the day about how it would be great to get some wedding photos with the field full of cows near their church and then they made an appearance specially for them! Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks guys!
